ESDLI Vision
The Eleva-Strum School District has a plan to take bold and innovative steps to dramatically transform teaching and learning. We recognize that the Internet, along with advances in mobile computing and communication technology, is rapidly changing the way our students learn and communicate. This poses new challenges and opportunities for preparing our students for higher education, careers, and life in the 21st Century. The District’s board of education, administration, teachers, families, students and community are addressing this challenge through a digital learning initiative.
The Eleva-Strum School District will use personal mobile computing technology in the classroom to engage students and customize our educational programs and curriculum to meet each student’s learning needs and educational goals. Each student will be equipped with a mobile computing device that can be used in the classroom and at home as a learning and communication tool. The use of one-to-one mobile computing technology will allow us to achieve the following objectives:
-
Students will be better prepared for life-long learning in a variety of learning environments, including self-study, online instruction, collaboration with peers, as well as, traditional instruction in a technologically-enhanced environment.
-
Students will be prepared to communicate effectively and appropriately using the latest technologies.
-
Students of all levels and abilities will be encouraged to achieve their potential through coursework and instruction customized for their needs.
-
Teachers will be innovative in the appropriate integration of technology in the classroom to engage students and differentiate instruction based on each student’s abilities.
-
Develop curriculum that is rigorous, meets or exceeds State Standards, and uses up-to-date materials from a variety of research-based sources.
By infusing, integrating and making technology accessible to every student, the Eleva-Strum School District will become a model for K-12 education in our region.
